This is part of a Local Labour Initiative organised by Future Skills Dudley supported by Dudley Council and creates a feeling of ‘ownership’ in the community for the project.
Not only has this initiative been extremely successful for all concerned by offering new skills and opportunities to the local workforce but one of the three workers has received a Site Safety Award from main contractor Carillion. Neil Phipps, aged 24 picked up the award for his work in promoting best practice in safety on site.
Neil was supported by the stringent Health and Safety Standards Parkstone enforced on all its sites.
John Love comments, ‘After my attendance at a recent employers event held at DMBC/Future Skills Training Centre I was impressed with the quality of candidate available and Parkstone as a company are very positive about employing local people for local projects. It makes sense not only for the community but for the Parkstone Group as well.’ Back to news index |
