Coventry Leisure Centre relaxes with Parkstone
Parkstone Construction, through Miller Construction, have been awarded the contract to carry out the groundworks for a new football pitch and car parks at Coventry Leisure Centre.
A problem that was identified at the planning stage, was that the slightly sloping pitch and surround would deliver water on to the car park as well as creating marshy conditions on one side of the pitch.
To solve this problem, Parkstone are laying a network of latticed water collection and dispersal tanks under part of the pitch and car park.
These tanks will allow the excess water to be drained away from underneath the car park in a controlled environment.
Nick Roche of Parkstone states “This is part of a number of Coventry regeneration schemes and we can assure both the centre and the community that our work will help to provide a first class sports and leisure facility”.
Parkstone, which was bought by it’s management a year ago, is continuing to enjoy considerable success and growth in the field of major project groundworks.
