Liaise with the procurement department in dealing with suppliers and subcontractors at tender stage to obtain the most competitive prices ensuring firm quotes are received for significant materials and subcontract items to support the best nett estimate.

Answering queries from subcontractors/suppliers.

Arrange and attend site visit.

Requesting further information from Client/Design Team and arrange meeting if required.

Enter sub-contractor /supplier quotations into “Document Management System”.

Liaise with Planner (or Project Manager) re: Methodology. (assumed responsibility until PGL employ their own Planner)

Price up Prelims.

Compile provisional tender adjudication summary.

Finalise adjudication sheet prior to tender Adjudication Meeting.

Ensure best and correct Nett Estimate is tendered.

Produce a bid strategy statement and identify the risk management of the tender.

Complete Form of Tender and tender letter with any qualifications.

Complete Contract Sum Analysis/Schedule if necessary.

Enter final tender information on “Document Management System”.

Chase bid ensuring contact is made and continued until project is placed.

Prepare information packages for handover to construction team, if successful.

Attend handover meeting and brief team on tender bid.

Identify scope for value engineering / value creation.

Represent the company at pre-arranged external pre-start meetings as applicable.

Compliance with Health and Safety at Work; working with and understanding the Company Health and Safety Policy and Procedures.

Compliance with all internal company policies and procedures.
At least 10 years estimating experience in groundworks and civil engineering.
Ideally from a measuring background.
